You get the CaddyAid Mobile Version 2 GPS software with unlimited course downloads. In terms of the screens you get one showing your list of courses, the Hazard screen showing distances to all the key points on the hole, and finally the Green screen showing you the front, middle and back readouts to the green only. All this for only £49.99.
The red dots indicates that you are currently not getting a strong enough reading from the satelittes in order to give you yardages for golf. The green dot indicates you are getting a good enough signal to use the GPS device on the course.
NOTE - Your phone may show a red dot, even if you know your phone is getting a GPS readout at that time. This is because you need good GPS accuracy for golf, where as for car navigation for example accuracy of 30 yards or worse is not an issue.
Simply scroll down until the course is found and then select it from the list.
Go to Options, and select either Next Hole, or select Hole from the drop down menu.
You do not need to buy any courses as you have an unlimited supply. However if you still have version 1 of the software, you will need to upgrade to version 2. Please do so by clicking the link within your members are to be found on the bottom right of the screen saying 'Upgrade'.

No. The phone needs to have an internal GPS chip inside it to work. CaddyAid Mobile will not work well with a Bluetooth GPS.
Initially the software has been built around the UK’s leading three mobile phone brands; Sony Ericsson, Blackberry and Nokia, Samsung and Motorola, so assuming your phone has an internal GPS chip, you should be fine. We strongly suggest you either request a trial download after registration or simply buy the software and should it not work, we will provide a full immediate refund, no questions asked.
Simply ask us to send you the test course to your phone after registration. If it works, then great, you can buy with confidence. If not, you will know that it is not compatible immediately. In this rare case, please send an email to support@caddyaidmobile.com
We will then look at the device in an attempt to make changes to the software so it will work with your particular phone. Once changed we will contact you to re-test, and if successful, then you can buy again with confidence.
Yes, if you have version 1 of the software, you can and will have to upgrade to version 2.
We have images for most of the courses in the UK. The reason why it is not immediately available is because as of yet we have not physically converted the course or the course data is not available.
This is a difficult question to answer as your mobile will determine its accuracy based on the quality of the GPS receiver inside it.
What we can say is that the data we provide for the GPS readings is taken by a £1 million camera, and is extremely accurate. We do recommend that for serious golfers, an external GPS receiver is used, with a good signal strength, and EGNOS reception, to allow optimum readings.
You dont actually buy the software, you are granted an annual license, renewable each year.
Not at present, but we are exploring this feature in later software releases.
Yes it is, under the Local rule, as stipulated by the R&A.
Each golf club is different. But the general rule of thumb is to keep your phone on silent mode, and just use the phone as a vehicle to get the GPS readings.
This could be for a number of reasons:
